Although paranormal mysteries are not my favorite genre, Umbrella Man was a great read. There were two plots within the single story - the first plot surrounding the death of a popular high school student while the second plot identified the paranormal activity behind the town killings. Both the good and bad characters were believable and the story which takes place in Central Florida, had many surprising twists. I look forward to reading more of the author' works.Product details

Normally I love everything written by Willow Rose but this book while good, to me was not up to her usual standards. Instead of having one plot going, there are three within this story, a very difficult task indeed. The constant back and forth between past, present and other ............... was interesting also made it easy to figure out who the villain is and where he is as you read. I am use to a more clear cut answer at the end of one of her books. In this was anything really solved? There is more to the story and I would like to know the answers to my questions (I don't post the questions as I do not like to reveal too much about a book I review). When you read this and anyone that likes mysteries, should read this you will understand. When will the second book be out? With this one book you have hopefully a vast area to explore with other books to come.
Poorly written. The descriptions were lacking, the characters were plastic, and it felt like something a twelve year old wrote down. I gave up on it half way through because I genuinely could not care what happens to anyone. I should not be editing your sentences in my head (while I read) to make them sound better. Deleted from library.
That's a nightmare in itself, isn't it? But what if you discovered that all your friends were having the same nightmare you were having, and people are dying. Then you discover something about things in your family - and further - that you wish were a nightmare but isn't. Where does the nightmare begin and end? This book shows a beginning of the strength of voice Willow Rose is coming into. I am sleepy right now, but such is the power of her writing now, I will not sleep for awhile yet. Taking history of a tragedy that happened in a small central Florida area, moving it slightly to Sumter County (where my parents lived the last 25 years of their lives) she weaves a tale of a nightmare that just won't go away. Intermittent glimpses into a family life that's just odd until all the pieces are woven together make the nightmare that much more terrifying. Ms. Rose's best book to date, and I know she will only get better with every book!

The plot is tight, surprising, and believable. No spoilers here... if you want to know what happens BUY IT. You won't be sorry!
This was a breathtaking story! Unfortunately I started late in the evening and couldn't stop until the final page. 530am! This is a taut and feasible plot taking place in central Florida, which was the main reason I got this as I live there. I was immediately drawn in by the superb plot and character developments, with no wasted words or descriptions. I highly recommend this and this being the first book of author Willow Rose I've read, I plan on going back to read all I've missed.
The book felt fragmented, I felt like there was 2 separate stories in this book. The links between the stories were weak.
The writer spent a lot of passages to describe some characters in the first half only to totally omit them in the rest of the book. I kept waiting it to relate back to the other characters but it didn't happen.
In the end it felt like the writer started something big and didn't have any idea to end the story so the ending was loose and lacking.
This is could be Willow Rose's best book to date. I read almost nonstop, I had to sleep and work, it was that good. What happens when you wake up from a dream and the world you wake up to isn't the world you belong in? That is how the book starts and it just gets better from there. The home town high school idol is found dead his the girl he was with comes back speaking a language she shouldn't know. With a Seminole Indian newly arrived in town with his daughter the only one who can translate. Then there is strange little Gubba, where does he fit in? Twists and turns and a lot of make you wonder moments. A great book for Willow Rose, I look forward to more like this.
