Unconditional A Novel reminds me of buying the DVD extended version of a movie with all the deleted scenes intact. Unconditional A Novel is a novelization of a movie by the same name. Eve Marie Everson has crafted a more complete story based on the screenplay. She has answers the questions viewers may have regarding the main characters past and what happened next. The crafting of this novel draws the reader in, holding them until the last word. If you never see the movie (which I hope is not the case) you will find this story of forgiveness and trusting God move on your heart every bit as dramatically as it does on the screen. Unconditional is based on actual events in the life of Papa Joe Bradford.When Samantha Crawford is reunited with her childhood friend Joe Bradford her life is restarted.After three years Sam has still not come to terms with the murder of her husband. Joe and his ministry to at-risk kids is the instrument for change drawing her back to her faith and joy in living once again.
There are surprising twists in the plot after Samantha learns details of her husband's final hour.Eva Marie Everson has taken the screenplay and crafted an excellent novel that completes the message of the movie.

"Unconditional A Novel" by master novelist Eva Marie Everson is a well-written story inspired by a true account. The personable characters pull you into their story. Their emotions become your emotions. I found myself laughing, crying, and wanting to warn the protagonist against taking a particular course of action. The plot constantly moves forward (causing me to forget to cook dinner). From beginning to end, the twists and turns commanded my rapt attention - thank you, Miss Everson! And finally, it is a story that stays with you - the mark of a writer who has mastered their craft.
Eva Marie Everson has written another wonderful book!! Love her books. This story was so inspiring and heartfelt. It reminds us of God's unconditional love that He bestows on us daily!!
II thought this book was very compelling. The story brought me to tears at times because of some of the situations in the plot. It was very uplifting in how God uses ones sadness and grief to being joy to others and to the one who is experiencing those deep emotions. Well worth your time.
I had never heard of the true story that was he basis for this book.

Another amazing story from a wonderful author. Ms. Everson paints pictures with her words. And this book is no exception. The story unfolds beautifully. It brings joy, tears, sorrow, and peace. And, as always, she points to our Lord God and His love for each of us, even through the storms of life. I loved this book. I highly recommend it.
Read Unconditional while on my Summer 2013 vacation and loved it. It's a very touching story that made me cry. The author evokes readers' feelings and emotions. The main character loses her husband and discovers a childhood friend. She's lost, lonely, and broken after shedding enough tears to dry her soul, but just as she's about to give up, she finds she still has a purpose, though not the one she'd originally planned. The short novel weaves a pattern and illustrates how people in real life touch each other, sometimes when we're not even aware of it. I loved Papa Joe. This book is based on a true story, and the story illustrates unconditional love. It also demonstrates how appearances can be so deceiving, just as in real life. I'm glad I didn't miss this one. It's a touching love story in more ways than one.
I can't give Unconditional more than 5 stars but if I could I would. The incredible true story of Papa Joe and Denise was written into a fiction story about Samantha (Sam ) and her childhood friendship with Joe. A little redhead and a little black boy who stuck up for each other in the toughest situations were separated for many years then brought together through a series of circumstances. This after Sam had lost her husband to a murder and Joe had gone to prison. The ministry they had together in a poor section of Nashville to the little children,has continued until this day,as they are now all born again Christians. Highly recommended
